Manchester United vs Manchester City
Wednesday 26th October
EFL Cup 4th Round
8:00pm Kick Off
Manchester Utd are coming off a horrendous 4-0 defeat against Chelsea and now they face rivals Manchester City in the League Cup 4th Round.
The huge defeat at Chelsea will clearly still be in the back of their minds but their focus must turn to Manchester City as they look to progress to the Quarter Finals to join the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool.
Meanwhile Manchester City are coming off a 1-1 draw against Southampton and are winless in 5 straight games in all competitions, something Pep Guardiola isn’t used to. A win against Man Utd will surely lift spirits within the City camp especially since they face European Giants Barcelona next week at the Etihad Stadium.
Manchester Utd will be without defender Eric Bailley who suffered a knee injury in the defeat against Chelsea. Wayne Rooney and Phill Jones are also expected to miss out with injuries. However, United fans could expect to see summer signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan make an appearance tonight. Mkhitaryan hasn’t featured for United since the derby defeat on September 10th.
Manchester City will be without Kevin De Bruyne who is out with a calf injury, Pablo Zabaleta will also be absent but Captain Vincent Kompany is fit for tonight’s game.
