Revealed: Breakdown of the £36m in add-ons from Coutinho’s transfer to Barcelona

Philippe Coutinho signed a five and a half year contract with Barcelona on Monday and following his record transfer fee from Liverpool, it was reported that £36m of the transfer fee would be in add-ons.

Here is the breakdown of the add-ons from a report from the Guardian:

  • £18million is due for Coutinho’s first 100 appearances for the club. Barcelona will pay £4.5million at each 25 match stage.
  • £4.5million will be due for if Barcelona qualify for the 2018/19 Champions League.
  • £4.5million will be due for if Barcelona qualify for the 2019/20 Champions League.
  • £4.5million will be due for if Barcelona win the 2018/19 Champions League.
  • £4.5million will be due for if Barcelona win the 2019/20 Champions League.
